The Costa del Sol offers excellent conditions for enjoying winter holidays by the sea. The average temperature in the month of January is around 13oC with some days exceeding 18oC. During the summer, the temperatures are slightly cooler than inland with a mean of 25oC in the month of August. Two local factors influence these exceptional conditions: the sea which regulates the coastal temperature with its breeze and the coastal mountain range which acts as a barrier against the colder inland winds.
The average temperature of the sea is between 15 or 16oC in the winter months and is around 20oC during the summer.
